World Series
This season seems to be unusually busy at the trade deadline. The Yankees have been the Yankees and have added more bats in hopes of overcoming any pitching deficiencies that could hinder there playoff chase. Yankees tickets get to see new faces like Xavier Nady, who is simply lucky to escape the Pirates franchise, and Ivan Rodriguez who is making the obligatory appearance on the Yankees that all aging stars are required to.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have tried to add some bite to the lineup, a lineup that has no bite or really, no bark. I do not know how this neutered team is still in the NL West race, but they are. They added Casey Blake. Blake is not the superstar, but his 11 homeruns make him the leading slugger on the team.
The Chicago Cubs hope to secure World Series tickets with the addition of Rich Harden. The Cubs hands were forced after the Milwaukee Brewers added C.C. Sabathia as they closed in on the Wild Card spot that is destined for the National League Central. Angels tickets already guarantee a spot in the playoffs, but just to make sure the Angles get out of the first round in years they added Mark Teixeira.
Other teams are being surprisingly quiet. The Boston Red Sox have fans buying tickets just to hold up signs to plead with Manny Ramirez to want to stay. The White Sox and the Twins are in the midst of a long battle for the AL Central, but have not made a major move. The White Sox may be trading for Ken Griffey Jr., though. Where the outfielder would go is a mystery, but having another left-handed bat is never a bad thing.
